About Bunafide coffee

At Bunafide, we believe that good coffee starts with honesty. We make quality coffee with care for people and origin, and are building a more transparent coffee chain, step by step. No empty claims, but visible progress.

We work with roasters that carry certifications such as Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade. The more people choose Bunafide, the better we can improve our chain and get closer to direct purchasing from farmers in Ethiopia and Kenya.

Our mission is simple: pure coffee, pure conscience. By being open about origin, costs, and choices, we show that every cup counts. Bunafide is on its way to a coffee world that is right with taste, with people, and with the planet.

Our journey towards ethical coffee

Transparency doesn't happen overnight. We're working in phases towards a fully honest and transparent coffee chain. Each step brings us closer to direct collaboration with farmers and a fair price for everyone in the chain.

Phase 1: Awareness and foundation

We source from Dutch roasters that work with certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, and Organic. This phase focuses on awareness: we raise attention to the problem while guaranteeing high-quality coffee.

Phase 2: Beginning of direct sourcing

We start building our own relationships with farmers. The more people choose Bunafide, the more we can invest in this step. This lays the foundation for true transparency and direct trade.

Phase 3: Direct purchasing

We now purchase directly from farmers in Ethiopia and Kenya. The chain becomes shorter, and price distribution fairer. Consumers pay a little more, but know exactly where that difference goes. This is the step where we truly make an impact visible.

Phase 4: Making the process more sustainable

Once the direct chain is established, we focus on sustainability. From packaging materials to local projects with farmers. We invest in better working conditions, nature conservation, and sustainable growth.

Phase 5: Long-term change

In the long term, we want to support multiple farmers and strengthen local communities. Not only through fair trade, but also by investing in the future of the villages and the surrounding nature.

Together on our way

Every cup of Bunafide coffee is a step towards a fairer coffee world. By buying from us, you directly contribute to a chain that is becoming more transparent, equitable, and sustainable.

With your purchase, you help us:

  • Shorten the supply chain. We are gradually working towards direct sourcing from farmers, so there are fewer intermediaries and more value remains at the source.
  • Fairly compensate farmers. By making conscious choices about sourcing and pricing, we ensure that the people who grow the beans truly benefit.
  • Increase transparency. We openly share what we know, where we stand, and what we still want to improve. This way, you help build a transparent coffee chain.
  • Promote sustainable growth. The more people choose Bunafide, the more we can invest in making processes, materials, and local projects more sustainable.

So you're not just buying coffee, but also progress. Small steps that together make a big difference for farmers, for nature, and for everyone who loves coffee that just feels right.

Small steps, big difference

Every cup counts

With every purchase, you help us get closer to direct cooperation with farmers. This way, we build a coffee chain together that works.

Composition and origin

Still Kicking Woodcups are made from 100% Arabica beans, sourced from Colombia, the same beans as our Still Kicking coffee beans. As decaf coffee pods, these are the only caffeine-free woodcups in our range.

Flavor profile and roast

These medium roast coffee pods have a sweet and fruity flavour profile and are very mild in taste. The decaffeination process does not alter the origin or roast, so the taste remains virtually the same as our regular Still Kicking coffee beans.

Who are the Still Kicking woodcups for?

Still Kicking Woodcups are Nespresso Compatible, making them suitable for any time you want to quickly and easily make a cup of coffee, including in the evening, thanks to being caffeine-free. After use, simply dispose of the cup with your organic waste.
